Yeast plait made from sprouted spelt flour with basil pesto

This vegan yeast plait not only looks beautiful, but also tastes fantastic. It is easier to make than it looks and consists of only a few ingredients. Serve it for brunch, for example, and your guests will be thrilled 🙂

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water.
  • Knead both flours with yeast & water, then add olive oil and salt and knead again.
  • Leave the dough to rise in a warm place for at least 1 hour.
  • Roll out the dough and spread with Wacker Basil Pesto, then roll up. Cut the roll in half and braid the two strands into a plait. Place in a loaf tin and leave to rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees top/bottom heat for 45 minutes, leave to cool and enjoy.
