Cool down! Healthy and refreshing summer drinks

It's hot, finally! But the heat can also be quite exhausting, making us sweat and causing circulation problems. With the temperatures, you crave refreshing drinks to quench your thirst and replenish your fluid and mineral levels.

Water is by far the healthiest drink. It contains no calories and we get it in sparkling, still, warm, cold and so on. But always drinking water can become quite monotonous and boring in the long run. Sometimes you just need a little taste in your mouth! Taste that is not produced by artificial additives and lots of sugar. Because we love it natural, healthy and refreshing!

It doesn't always have to be water

Drink water

All the building blocks of our body, i.e. our organs and our tissues, depend on a continuous supply of fluid. Although we know this and certainly all of us have had those annoying headaches caused by not drinking enough, we often and willingly neglect drinking. This is also because water, supposedly the only calorie-free beverage, tastes too bland to many people for whom a sugar-free diet is important. It is not uncommon for many people to turn to light products, but unfortunately they are not always "light".

In order to reach the recommended amount of liquid of at least 1.5 litres, there are certainly alternative beverage ideas to water. Not only do they taste good, they are also healthy, low in calories and sugar, quench thirst and, above all, are a cool refreshment for hot summer days.

Our insider tips

Pure fruit smoothies in particular can cause blood sugar levels to skyrocket due to their high fructose content. It is therefore better to mix fruit juices with a little water. An ice-cold cola or lemonade is often the absolute highlight for the little ones on hot days. The taste is probably of secondary importance here, rather than the feeling they trigger in you. To draw the little ones' attention to a healthier alternative, try to make the drinks visually appealing to the children. Umbrellas, straws and pieces of fruit cut into pretty shapes make the sticky and unhealthy soft drinks look boring next to them.
